"Deadpool" is rated R

If you have not seen Deadpool, SEE IT! If you want to bring your kids because its a superhero movie, DON'T! There is a reson it is rated R. Dirty jokes and sexual visuals are more often then a single scene. Not to mention it's violent, but what isn't these days? The violence didn't bother me so much.

I sat down in the theater and saw a couple bring in their little girl and another with two little boys. All of them ranging from ages 9 to 11. My first thought, as someone with modern knowledge that the internet is probably way worse then this movie could ever be, thought that at least they are bringing them instead of them finding it themselves with other little kids at school. That way, if they are confused or have any questions, the adults can talk it out. Then I watched the movie.

Let it be known that I don't have any children of my own. However, I have parented a small boy for many years that lived with my ex and I. I'm a very open minded person who believes that sheilding a child will not only distance you from them as they get older, but will also hinder their education. This does not mean that I don't believe in age appropriation.

As an adult, I loved the movie. I haven't laughed that hard out loud at a movie since the release of American Pie in 1999. The script was very well written, hilarious and Ryan Reynolds delivery was spot on! I know he played Green Lantern a few years ago and I'm not a huge fan of actors playing multiple superheros throughout comic books, but I feel as if Deadpool couldn't have been played by anyone better. The movie is rated R and in my book, the R stands for Redefined. Because Deadpool has just redefined everything I want in a live action comic movie. I can't wait to watch it again!
